H. Pike Oliver

Pike has an extensive background in land use and real estate development. His interests and experience include: economics; environment; demographics; design and; finance. Early in his career Pike worked for several public agencies, including the City of New York and the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research where he was principal author of An Urban Strategy for California (1978.) For the next three decades, he worked on master-planned communities at the Irvine Ranch and other properties in the western United States and British Colombia as well as Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. Prior to relocating to Seattle in the summer of 2013, Pike taught city planning and real estate courses at Cornell University where he also directed the undergraduate program in urban and regional studies. He majored in urban studies at San Francisco State University and holds a master's degree in urban planning from UCLA.
